1. All
applicants for PSLC services must live in Riverside County. Only those
whose income meets established financial guidelines may be eligible
for legal services. Once you have been approved, there will be no charge
for your legal services as long as you are financially eligible. If
you misrepresent your income, family size, or other facts about your
eligibility, you may be found ineligible for this program.
2. Please
call or come to the office between 9 am and 5 pm for screening for financial
eligibility. If you qualify and your legal problem is one in which the
PSLC offers legal services, you will be given an appointment.
1. Be
on time for your appointment. Remember the attorneys are volunteering
their time to help you. If an emergency makes you unable to make your
appointment, please call the place for your appointment and tell them
why you cannot make the appointment and try to reschedule your appointment.
Also, remember some of your legal problems may require some type of
action in a limited amount of time.
2. Bring
all papers, letters, documents and other evidence such as bills, receipts,
and checks related to your case when you come to your appointment. Write
down the dates of important events that have happened in your case.
This will save both you and your attorney time.
3. Keep
the attorney informed of any changes in your address or telephone number.
It is essential that the attorney be able to reach you when necessary.
4. Be
totally honest with your attorney at all times. Your dealings with the
attorney will be completely confidential. In order to act for your best
interests, the attorney must be aware of all facts involved in your
case. The attorney must be able to count on your full cooperation.
5. You
may be required to pay court costs, filing fees, investigative and service
fees necessary to your case. The attorney will discuss these costs with
you.
